Songs of Joy is a website highlighting the musical ministry of Mary Murphy. Mary is a singer and songwriter of contemporary Christian music, and she sings for senior groups all over the Minneapolis Metro area.
Through Songs of Joy, Mary performs and ministers in two distinct areas. She sings her own music in churches, camps, bookstores and coffee houses. Two CD's are currently available of Mary's music. "The Fear of the Lord" is her first CD project and features all her own songs. "The Heartbeat of Christmas" is a compilation CD that includes Mary's song "Hold On To Jesus" that won a regional song-writing competition. It is also exciting to announce that a new CD entitled, "Welcome the Rain", will be released soon!
In addition to singing her own music, Mary has also been singing for the past 6 years for seniors all over the Minneapolis Metro area in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Residences, Adult Day Cares and Senior Centers. Her sets of music include a wide variety of music featuring the old standards of big band, jazz, country and hymns. Songs of Joy comes from Psalm 65:8 “Those living far away fear your wonders; where morning dawns and evening fades you call forth songs of joy." Songs of Joy is a music ministry dedicated to glorifying God. "Music is a gift that the Lord has given us. When we lift up a song, we are offering our hearts to the Lord. It is my desire that my music would honor our heavenly Father and remind us all of His great love for us. "
